Weight loss milestone – 202.5 pounds | August 13, 2011

The other day I weighed in at 202.5 pounds. Now that, in and of itself, doesn’t seem like a special number. Sure, it’s awfully close to that 200 pound ‘target’, but why make a big deal?

Because in early March of this year, I weighed in at 252.5 pounds and that was the day I said, “Holy fuck, I’m fat!” (Yes, I’d know I was fat for a while, but it was mostly subconscious, and when it was conscious, it was unspoken, non-verbalised. I literally said it out loud when I weighed in at that awful number.)

50 pounds in under 5 months. Let’s say that again. FIFTY-FUCKING-POUNDS. Hell yeah.

All through increased physical activity (working out in the gym, walking and working at the shelter again) and calorie counting. Not cutting stuff completely out, not going on one of these fad diets, not drinking nothing but carrot juice for seven weeks and eating granola only for three weeks… nope, I still eat hamburgers (just not nearly as often), hot dogs, pizza, ice cream and all the rest, but in moderation.

It really works.
